What was the highlight of Park Hotel Porto Istana
Amazing place, provided a true holiday experience.
The property was cosy, had a little detached house with bedroom and bathroom, also hair dryer and small fancy toiletries which were topped up every day together with house cleaning. The staff were friendly and food delicious too, had half-board stay which included breakfast and dinner, on which were served wine every evening and bottle of water. They had a menu for every evening in english to see what food were available. The hotel had its own huge pool, nice area around the hotel and even an outside old-school gym. A very short walk to the beach, although first beach was private, the second beach was a minute away. We had an amazing stay, with very pleasant staff and a great weather.
There is nothing negative to say, besides be aware of different sockets, which we didnt account for and couldnt find in a shop for UK-Italian conversion. Another point to be aware of is although booking.com claimed taxes are covered, Hotel did request to pay city taxes at the end of stay, which we were expecting.

What was the highlight of Park Hotel Porto Istana
Enjoyable but not luxurious
Close to a beach with private section for the guests, 10 minutes walk but do-able. Private parking for free. Family friendly. Caring staff. Outdoor fitness by the pool. Clean pool with salt water instead of massive chlorine. Food was great.
Toilet in our first apartment had a bad smell. The place was full of ants. Requested a nice romantic welcome for our honeymoon, even though confirmed, nothing was done. Way too expensive (€2000+) for a week while value wasn’t that high. No supermarkets nearby, have to drive into town. Food from beach club was horrible, don’t eat there.

Fair
The location. Close to the beach. But note that the beach is not as on the hotel photos. Do not have expectations upon hotel photos. That could be quite disappointing, as it was for us. The salt water pool is quite big, and usually with not many people.
The declared 5* hotel is in fact it is a worn down 3* holiday club - not hotel. All services are for club members. Our impression is that not club members are not really welcome. Rating score is for a 5*, if this hotel would be declared as a 3* (as real rating) it should score 7 or 8.
